An Inspiring Trek

The annual Bataan Memorial Death March challenge comm emorates the forced march of Filipino and American captives in 1942. This year, the twenty-six-mile trek included a team of blinded veterans. They were there through Operation Peer Support, one of the many programs through which the Blinded Veterans Association helps blind veterans and their families, regardless of how the blindness was acquired or whether they belong to the organization. The blind marchers were assisted by sighted guides and a speaker that pumped out music to let everyone orient themselves. Learn more at BVA.org.
